Businesses in the Middelburg area have been affected by the global recession but new orders in the manufacturing market have brought new life to the other business sectors.
A new industrial park, next to the N4 incoming route to Middelburg, has been serviced for new industrial businesses. Barloworld Toyota recently opened their new premises at the site where a new mall has been proposed. Further to the west of Middelburg we have the Midwater Shopping Centre. The second phase of development has now been approved by the Mpumalanga Townships Board so that this Shopping Centre will become a Mall.
Some 300 businesses are enrolled as members of the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The Chamber has a Business Linkage Centre which assists members in various ways, including assistance with BBBEE compliance certificates and information on new tenders.
