A fantastic Golf Day

Taking time off their busy schedules, business owners, and staff supported the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s annual corporate golf day at the Middelburg Country Club on May 19th.

Following the opening ceremony, MCCI handed out gift bags to the golfers before they teed off.  To start our event, the Mayor of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality took the first tee-off.

18 tee-boxes and 3 greens were sponsored for the day by the local businesses in Middelburg and Witbank. Excitement was high, with a fun atmosphere created with all the sponsors.

The master of the ceremony for the prize giving was Mr. Ian Strydom from Qembu Middelburg, ensured that the evening ended on a high note.  Anna-Marth Ott, CEO of the MCCI opened the event and welcomed all the sponsors and players.

The Main Sponsor for the day was FAW Highveld Commercial and Second sponsor was Nashua Mpumalanga and Brimis Engineering.

MCCI Golf Day Nkangala TVET Draws Winner

Mr. N.B Maphanga of Nkangala TVET College gave the lucky draw prize Mr. E. Matlala.

The prize was a Fully Funded Apprentice Recognition of Prior Learning Training for semi-skilled artisans who had worked for 3 or more years at a company without obtaining their trade test.  The TVET program speeds up students to take the trade test in just 3 months, instead of 3 years for a typical apprenticeship.

The MCCI Golf Day is the perfect place to highlight a specific service, as the above example shows.  Our next Golf Day is booked for 26 April 2026.

The Middelburg Chamber will be hosting its annual Premier Business Golf Day on 13 May 2022 at the Middelburg Country Club.

This event has been held for many years and has a permanent place in the diary of local business people. Businesses have the opportunity to participate through sponsorship and play to meet other businesses.

On Friday, 7 May, the MCCI hosted our 2021 Golf Day. All had great fun, and the day was a big success. We had a full field with our Tee Box sponsorships and teams that played.

Sports stars were all about as Fanie De Villiers came out to meet and greet the local schools’ cricket teams and entertain the golfers at prize-giving,

Pollen Ndlanya showed up for a fun game of golf with us, and many a golfer came to enjoy the day.

 

MCCI started this event to bring businessmen and women together, to network and market themselves. And this year has shown that it is a definite benefit to join us on this day.

With like-minded individuals sponsoring and joining in on the game, this is a fantastic way to meet new business individuals.

All sponsors get unique social media marketing and exposure to the MCCI Affiliations and the Middelburg Community.

And for the Golfers who just came to enjoy the day, there were numerous prizes to be won! A lucky draw and even a small auction.

From 1st to 10th was recognized with a few other categories: Nearest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and the most accurate drive of the day.

A new tradition was started with Sandra Lawrenson from MCCI doing live Facebook interviews with the Companies that

attended and sponsored—giving more and more value to the Companies and Sponsors involved.

Let’s Get Golfing!

It is that time of year again. On 7 May 2021, our annual Middelburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry Golf Day will tee off at 10 am; the format is a 2-ball scramble with a shotgun start.

Fanie De Villiers will be joining in on the fun and entertaining the teams and businesses participating. Our Golf Day is one of our popular annual networking events for business.

Last year we showed that the game must go on, within the Covid-19 rules. In 2021 we want to strengthen the relationships and business networking imperative for the survival of SSME’s and larger companies.

We have also set aside a presentation area for participating businesses to host a short 10min verbal presentation on their company throughout the day. We are adding an extra element to the networking during the day.

With different levels of sponsorship, we have opened the gates for all to participate. Registration will include 1x 4 ball, meal & water per player, 10 min presentation time and a goodie bag for each player.

Sponsorship and Team registration ended 1 May at 5 pm. We hope to see you there.
