The Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) would like to thank Veralogix, Mpumalanga Action Movement (MAM) and Liberty Coal for their support of our community. The donated bakkies will support service delivery in Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (STLM). STLM has set itself the goal of reducing the call-out time to four hours, a goal that is supported by all MCCI members.
Mayor Mhlonishwa Masilela said that the municipality does not have enough support vehicles to adequately serve the community. As a born and bred Middelburger, George van der Merwe, Chief Executive Officer of Veralogix, wants to see sustainable and constant growth for STLM. He is confident that the additional vehicles will significantly improve service delivery. According to the Chief Operating Officer of Liberty Coal, Hlayseka Chauke, public-private partnerships are the best way to improve our region.
The ten light delivery vehicles, valued at approximately R5 million, consisting of four single-cap and six double-cap bakkies, will be allocated to STLM’s Infrastructure, Community Services and Corporate Services departments.
A strong and fully functioning municipality is important for the economy. We want to expand, become prosperous and remain the best municipality in Mpumalanga. Together with MCCI members such as Veralogix, MAM and Liberty Coal, MCCI and STLM, Steve Tshwete Local Municipality can become the best municipality in South Africa.
