The purpose of the Public Procurement Act that was published in Gazette no 50967 is to regulate public procurement; to prescribe a framework within which preferential procurement must be implemented; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

• Transparency: Requires publication of procurement plans and contract awards.
• Dispute Resolution: Provides mechanisms for supplier complaints and independent review.
