The monthly Loskop to Olifants Tourism Meeting took place on 1 October 2025 at the Middelburg Country Club, chaired by Johannes Welgemoed. Local business owners and tourism stakeholders came together to share updates and collaborate on ways to boost tourism in the region.
The meeting began with introductions, where attendees shared their current promotions, focus areas, and recent initiatives. This allowed participants to understand each other’s activities and identify opportunities for joint marketing and collaboration. Discussions focused on the creation of an official Loskop to Olifants Tourism Map, highlighting attractions and activities, and website updates on middelburginfo.co.za, including the “Where to Stay” section and reservation form. Another important topic was the Tourism Marketing Package introduced by the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry, along with new company and individual screening and verification services. Members were also encouraged to submit their business adverts for posting on the Middelburg Tourist Information Centre Facebook page to increase visibility.
The meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation, early promotion of local events, and active participation in tourism initiatives. Special thanks were extended to the Middelburg Country Club for hosting and providing refreshments, and all attendees were appreciated for their contributions.
