The Middelburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) proudly hosted its First Aid Training Level One on 6 and 7 October 2025, equipping members with essential lifesaving skills and practical knowledge.
The two-day training was conducted by Christo de Ridder from OHS Academy, whose expertise and engaging teaching style ensured that the sessions were both informative and enjoyable. Members were introduced to vital first aid practices, including:
- Managing choking emergencies
- Understanding types of bleeding and pressure points
- Recognizing and treating shock
- Responding to head injuries and fractures
- Wound care and bandaging techniques
- Performing CPR
- And many more crucial accident-response skills
One of the highlights of the training was the hands-on practice, where members had the opportunity to bandage one another and apply their newly learned skills in simulated accident scenarios. The interactive approach not only strengthened their confidence but also made the experience exciting and memorable.
The MCCI extends heartfelt thanks to Christo de Ridder and OHS Academy for their outstanding training, and to all our members who participated with such enthusiasm. We are proud to see our business community committed to workplace safety and preparedness.
With this successful training behind us, we look forward to offering more skill-building opportunities that empower our members and enhance safety in our community.
