Following recent heavy rainfall, Kruger National Park remains partially operational, with several camps open to visitors while recovery work continues across affected areas.
A number of main camps in the park are currently open, including Punda Maria, Mopani (from 30 January, with the restaurant and swimming pool still closed), Satara (with guests advised to use Phalaborwa Gate for access), Orpen (open from 25 January), Skukuza, Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop, Crocodile Bridge, and Berg-en-Dal. In addition, Bataleur Bush Camp will reopen from 28 January. Satellite camps Tamboti and Maroela are open for overnight guests only, while Malelane Satellite Camp is also open.
In conclusion, visitors are encouraged to plan their trips carefully, confirm access routes and camp availability before travelling, and follow all SANParks guidance. These measures are essential to ensure visitor safety and to support the continued recovery of Kruger National Park.
